When Is Hajj 2027?

Hajj 2027 is expected to take place around May 14 to 19, 2027. The Day of Arafah, the most important day, falls on about Saturday, May 15, 2027, and Eid al-Adha on about Sunday, May 16, 2027. These dates depend on the moon so they may move by a day. Saudi Arabia confirms the exact dates about a week before Hajj.

Because Hajj is tied to set days each year, you cannot choose your own travel dates the way you can for Umrah. Everyone performs the rites together over the same few days, which is why spots fill up, and prices rise as Hajj gets closer.

What Is Hajj?

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. It is a duty for every Muslim who can do it, at least once in their life. It takes place on set days in the month of Dhul Hijjah and includes rites in Makkah, Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. A full Hajj trip from the USA usually takes 14 to 21 days.

Hajj is different from Umrah. Umrah can be done any time of year and takes a few hours of rites. Hajj happens only once a year, takes five to six days of rites, and is a much bigger journey. Many pilgrims describe Hajj as the most important trip of their lives.

Hajj Package Types: Shifting vs Non-Shifting

The main choice in any Hajj package is Shifting or Non-Shifting. In a Shifting package, you move between accommodations during the Hajj days, which costs less. In a Non-Shifting package, you stay in the same tent in Mina the whole time, which costs more but is easier. VIP packages offer the closest tents and the best hotels.

Standard (Non-Shifting)

If this is your first Hajj and your budget allows, many pilgrims find Non-Shifting worth the extra cost, because Hajj is tiring and staying in one place saves a lot of energy. If budget is your main concern, a Shifting package still completes a full, valid Hajj.

What Is Included in a Hajj Package?

Your Hajj package covers your flights, your Hajj visa, hotels in Makkah and Medina, your tents and services in Mina and Arafat, all transport, your meals during the Hajj days, and an experienced group leader. Everything you need for the five to six days of rites is arranged for you.

  • Flights from your nearest US airport, round-trip, in your name.
  • Hajj visa, processed through the official Saudi system. Spots are limited by quota.
  • Hotels named and confirmed in both cities, with the distance to the Haram.
  • Mina and Arafat camp: your tent, bedding, food, and services for the Hajj days.
  • Transport: buses and transfers between all the holy sites.
  • Meals: full meals during the Hajj days, and breakfast at most hotels.
  • Group leader: an experienced leader who guides your group through every rite.

The Days of Hajj, Step by Step

Hajj takes place over five to six days, from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah. Here is what happens on each day, in simple terms. Your group leader walks you through all of it.

  • 8th (Day of Tarwiyah): You enter Ihram and travel to Mina for the day and night.
  • 9th (Day of Arafah): The most important day. You stand at Arafat in prayer, then move to Muzdalifah for the night.
  • 10th (Eid): Eid al-Adha. You stone the Jamarat, offer the sacrifice, cut your hair, and perform Tawaf.
  • 11th to 13th: The days of Tashreeq. You stay in Mina and stone the Jamarat each day.

After the rites, most packages include more time in Makkah and a visit to Medina to pray at the Prophet's Mosque.

How to Get a Hajj Visa from the USA

You get a Hajj visa through an approved Hajj operator, not on your own. Saudi Arabia gives each country a set number of spots each year, so places are limited. We are an approved operator and process your visa through the official Saudi system as part of your package.

Because spots are limited by quota, Hajj sells out. The earlier you book, the better your chance of a place and a good price. You will need a valid US passport with at least 6 months left, the required vaccines, and your documents. We tell you exactly what to send and handle the rest. Green Card holders and US residents are welcome; just call us to confirm your details.

Why Book Hajj with Qiblatain?

Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, so it matters who you book with. Qiblatain is an experienced, US-based, approved operator that has guided American pilgrims since 2010. We hold ARC, IATA, and Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah accreditation, and our group leaders have done Hajj many times.

During Hajj, the crowds are huge and the days are long. A good group leader makes all the difference. Ours stay with your group through every rite, in Mina, at Arafat, and at the Jamarat, so you are never lost or alone. We know the routes, the timings, and how to keep older pilgrims safe and comfortable. When something needs sorting out on the ground, a real person from our team is right there with you.
