When Is Hajj 2027?
Hajj 2027 is expected to fall around May 14 to 19, 2027. The Day of Arafah, the heart of Hajj, is expected on Saturday, May 15, 2027, with Eid al-Adha on Sunday, May 16, 2027. These dates follow the Islamic calendar and the moon sighting, so they can shift by a day. Saudi Arabia confirms the final dates shortly before Hajj begins.
Unlike Umrah, you cannot pick your own dates for Hajj. Every pilgrim in the world performs the rites on the same few days. That is why Hajj spots sell out and why prices climb as the season gets closer. If Hajj 2027 is your year, the smartest thing you can do is lock in your package early.
How Much Does Hajj Cost from the USA?
Hajj from the USA costs between $9,000 and $12,000 per person in most cases. The price depends on three things: how close your hotel is to the Haram, whether your package is Shifting or Non-Shifting, and how early you book. Here is what pilgrims typically pay:
|
Package level |
Typical price per person |
What you get |
|---|---|---|
|
Economy (Shifting) |
$9,000 |
3-4-5-star hotels, standard Mina tents – you move between sites |
|
Standard (Non-Shifting) |
$9,400 – $10,000 |
4-star hotels closer to the Haram, same Mina tent the whole time |
|
VIP / Premium |
$11,000 – $12,000+ |
5-star hotels a short walk away, upgraded tents, extra services |
One thing we tell every pilgrim: watch the hotel distance, not just the price. A hotel two miles from the Haram means a long walk in the Makkah heat, several times a day, after hours of rites. A slightly higher price for a closer hotel is often the better deal. We list the exact hotel and its distance for every package, so you know before you pay.
Shifting vs Non-Shifting: Which Hajj Package Is Right for You?
In a Shifting package, you move between accommodations during the five Hajj days, which keeps the price lower. In a Non-Shifting package, you keep the same tent in Mina for the whole time, which costs more but saves your energy. Both complete a full, valid Hajj.
Here is our honest advice after guiding US pilgrims since 2010. If you are older, travelling with parents, or doing Hajj for the first time, Non-Shifting is usually worth it. The Hajj days are long and tiring, and having one fixed base makes everything easier. If you are younger, fit, and want the lowest price, a Shifting package works well, and your Hajj is complete in every way.
You can compare prices, hotels, and dates on our Shifting Hajj packages page and our Non-Shifting Hajj packages page before you decide.

Nusuk Hajj Packages from the USA
US pilgrims must now book Hajj through Nusuk, the official Saudi government platform. You cannot get a Hajj visa on your own or through a regular travel agent. Qiblatain works within the Nusuk system, so when you book with us, your registration, payment, and visa all go through the official channel.
Many pilgrims find the Nusuk portal confusing, especially adding family members, loading the eWallet, and picking a package before slots booked. We walk you through every step by phone or WhatsApp. You send us your documents, we tell you exactly what to do, and we make sure your booking is locked in correctly. That is the main reason families come back to us year after year.
Hajj Packages from Your City
We serve pilgrims across the United States, with departures from every major airport:
- New York (JFK): direct flights to Jeddah, around 11 to 13 hours
- Chicago (ORD): direct and one-stop options
- Houston (IAH): connecting flights via Europe or the Gulf
- Dallas (DFW): our home base — our office is in Plano, TX
- Los Angeles (LAX), Detroit (DTW), Washington (IAD): convenient one-stop routes
Live somewhere else? No problem. We arrange flights from any US city and connect you with your group in Saudi Arabia. Call us with your home airport, and we will quote the exact fare.
The Five Days of Hajj, Step by Step
Hajj takes place from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah. Here is what each day looks like. Your group leader guides you through all of it, so you never have to figure anything out alone.
- Day 1 (8th Dhul Hijjah): You enter Ihram and travel to Mina, where you spend the day and night in prayer.
- Day 2 (9th – Day of Arafah): The most important day of Hajj. You stand at Arafat in prayer from noon to sunset, then travel to Muzdalifah for the night.
- Day 3 (10th – Eid al-Adha): You stone the large Jamarah, offer the sacrifice, cut your hair, and perform Tawaf al-Ifadah in Makkah.
- Days 4–6 (11th–13th): The days of Tashreeq. You stay in Mina and stone all three Jamarat each afternoon.
After the rites, most of our packages include extra days in Makkah and a visit to Madinah to pray at the Prophet's Mosque, peace be upon him.
How to Get a Hajj Visa from the USA
You get a Hajj visa only through an approved operator on the Nusuk platform. There is no separate visa fee for US pilgrims; the visa is built into your package. Here is what you need:
- A US passport valid for at least 6 months after the Hajj
- Required vaccinations, including meningitis (we send you the current list)
- A passport photo and your completed forms
Send us these documents, and we'll handle the rest. Green Card holders and US residents are welcome to call us, and we will confirm your eligibility in one conversation.
Why American Pilgrims Book Hajj with Qiblatain
Qiblatain is a trusted Islamic travel agency in USA, guiding pilgrims to Hajj and Umrah since 2010 from our office in Plano, Texas. We are ARC protected, and accredited by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. When you book with us, you are booking with a licensed American company, not an overseas broker.
Here is what that means during Hajj itself. The crowds are in the millions and the days run long. Our group leaders have done Hajj many times. They know the routes to the Jamarat, the best times to move, and how to keep older pilgrims safe. They stay with your group at every rite — in Mina, at Arafat, at Muzdalifah — so you are never lost or alone. If a problem comes up on the ground, a real person from our team fixes it there, not from a call center overseas.

What is the difference between Shifting and Non-Shifting Hajj packages?

How early should I book Hajj from the USA?
Book 6 to 12 months before Hajj. US spots are limited by a yearly quota and sell out, and prices rise as the season approaches. For Hajj 2027, the best time to book is mid-2026 to early 2027.
How long is a Hajj trip from the USA?
A Hajj trip from the USA usually takes 14 to 21 days. The rites themselves last five to six days, from the 8th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah. The remaining days are spent in Makkah and Madinah.
Do US citizens pay a Hajj visa fee?
No. There is no separate Hajj visa fee for US pilgrims. The visa is processed through the Nusuk platform and is included in your package price. You only need a valid passport, your vaccinations, and your documents.
Can families travel together for Hajj?
Yes. Families can book together and stay together. We add your family members as dependents in the Nusuk system so you share the same package, hotel, and group. Children may travel with you, though Hajj is not required of them until adulthood.
What is the difference between Hajj and Umrah?
Umrah can be performed any time of year, takes a few hours of rites, and costs far less. Our Umrah packages start at about $930 from the USA. Hajj happens once a year on fixed days, takes five to six days of rites, and costs much more. Hajj is a pillar of Islam and a duty for those who are able; Umrah is highly recommended but not required.
