Flights from Detroit to Jeddah and Madinah
There is no nonstop flight from Detroit to Jeddah, so every trip has one stop. Common routes go through Istanbul with Turkish Airlines or Amman with Royal Jordanian. Total travel time is usually 16 to 20 hours.
We book travelers from all of Metro Detroit, including Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Hamtramck, Warren, Sterling Heights, Troy, Canton, and Ann Arbor. If you live in Flint, Lansing, or Grand Rapids, we can start your trip from your local airport.
Traveling with family from the West Coast? See our Los Angeles Umrah Packages and we will match your arrival times in Jeddah.
3-Star, 4-Star, or 5-Star: Which One Should You Pick?
The main difference is how far you walk to the Haram.
- 3-star (from $1,240): Clean, simple rooms. Hotels are farther from the Haram, with a short shuttle ride or a longer walk. Good for a tight budget.
- 4-star (from $1,265): Closer hotels and better rooms for about $25 to $30 more. This is what most families pick.
- 5-star (from $1,652): Hotels next to the Haram, such as Sheraton Makkah Jabal Al Kaaba. Best for older parents and anyone who has trouble walking.
Umrah Visa for Detroit Travelers
Your Umrah visa is included in the package price. You send us a copy of your passport and a photo, and we file the application for you. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your travel date. Green card holders and other non-U.S. passport holders can apply too, but the steps can be different. Read our Umrah Visa from USA guide for the full list of documents.
Best Time to Go for Umrah from Detroit
The cheapest months are usually the ones outside Ramadan, Hajj season, and school holidays. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 8, 2027, and hotel prices in Makkah are highest in the last ten nights. Late December is the second busiest time because Michigan schools are on winter break.
